Comedy Central Sold on Stella

May 1, 2005 – Stella, a pilot which shot in New York City in September 2004, has been sold to Comedy Central and will shoot nine more episodes here in New York City beginning this month. The half-hour narrative comedy focuses on the adventures of three guys sharing an apartment in the City and is shot almost entirely in Brooklyn.

The series’ executive producers and stars are Michael Showalter, who wrote and directed The Baxter, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last month, along with Michael Ian Black and David Wain.

“The trio behind Stella have always lived and worked in New York,” executive producer and star David Wain said. “In everything I’ve ever done, the City has always been a major element of my creative environment and I’ve never even considered shooting elsewhere. The locations you get here can’t be recreated.”

Tune in to Stella on June 29 at 10:30 pm on Comedy Central!
