April 1, 2009 - The Broadway season is quickly coming to a close as new productions debut throughout April.

Bill Irwin, Nathan Lane, John Goodman, and John Glover make up the cast of the highly anticipated Waiting for Godot. Studio 54 will play host to the Samuel Beckett masterpiece with performances beginning April 3.

9 to 5 will be the common refrain at the Marquis Theatre as the new musical begins performances on April 7. With songs penned by Dolly Parton, the 1980 film comes to life with stars Allison Janney, Stephanie J. Block, and Megan Hilty.

Tony winner David Hyde Pierce returns to Broadway in Accent on Youth. Previews begin April 7 for the limited engagement at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Pierce stars as a playwright who fears he is losing his muse to a younger man.

The Philanthropist sees Matthew Broderick on Broadway for a limited engagement at the American Airlines Theatre. Broderick stars as a professor who’s occupied with the minutiae of his life as the outside world falls to pieces. Previews begin April 10.

The Norman Conquests Trilogy will be staged at the Circle in the Square Theatre beginning on April 11. The trilogy is comprised of three connected plays depicting the same event – a man trying to seduce his wife’s sister – from different perspectives. The plays will be performed on a rotating schedule and can also be seen all together on Trilogy days.

The St. James Theatre will host Desire Under the Elms for a limited run. Starring Brian Dennehy, Carla Gugino, and Pablo Schreiber as family members locked in a heated love triangle, performances begin on April 14.
