April 1, 2008 - Located in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, Sanders Studios is the latest stage to be named a qualified film production facility. Filming at a facility like Sanders Studios makes productions eligible to participate in the “Made in NY” and Empire State incentive programs.
Sanders Studios, based in the industrial corridor of a
residential area, offers 15000 square feet of production space. Up to three
productions can exist at one time in the facility. In the past year, the studio
has housed City Light Productions, as well as a New York Times
technology show, and numerous commercials.
Originally constructed as an industrial carriage house, the building went on to house Breyers Ice Cream Factory and then a health club facility before it was converted to studio and event space.
Recent renovations added another skylight, more offices, and the needed space required to rank as a qualified stage. Other features include three skylights providing extra natural daylight for photography shoots, a rooftop, and ample parking.
