NYC TV Wins Record-Setting 12 Emmy Awards

April 8, 2008 -NYC TV, the official TV network of the City of New York, has won twelve New York Emmy Awards, local television’s most coveted peer-recognition award. The twelve Emmys – out of a record forty-eight nominations – are the most won by NYC TV in the station’s history.

“NYC TV’s Emmy wins are a testament to the strength of its innovative and engaging programming,” said Mayor Michael Bloomberg. “I would like to congratulate Arick Wierson and the rest of NYC TV team on their twelve Emmy Awards. When we launched the station in 2003, we set out to celebrate the many sides of our great city – for both New Yorkers and global audiences. NYC TV’s success has set a new bar for local television.”

Since its inception in 2003, NYC TV has been nominated for one hundred sixteen New York Emmys, winning thirty-three. The 51st Annual New York Emmy Awards ceremony, which took place at the Marriott Marquis Times Square on April 6, will be broadcast as part of a special presentation on NYC TV’s Channel 25 on Tuesday, April 15 at 9 pm.
