'August' in April, More Spring Openings

 

April 1, 2008 - The Broadway season reaches its climax as a string of plays and musicals start their performances in April.

In addition, two plays will find new homes in April. The 39 Steps switches to the Cort Theatre beginning April 29 while August: Osage Country makes the move to the Music Box Theatre on the same day.

Boeing-Boeing lands at the Longacre Theatre with performances beginning April 19, starring Bradley Whitford, Christine Baranski, and Mark Rylance.

Morgan Freeman, Frances McDormand, and Peter Gallagher headline in The Country Girl at the newly renamed Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre as previews begin April 3.

Starting April 17, Studio 54 makes way for Dancin' with choreography by Bob Fosse.

Circle in the Square Theatre welcomes Glory Days, the story of four young friends as they come of age. Previews begin April 22.

Les Liaisons Dangereuses, starring Laura Linney, begins performances at the American Airlines Theatre on April 12.

Laurence Fishburne stars in the one man show, Thurgood, based on the life of the Supreme Court Justice. The play begins previews on April 12 at the Booth Theatre.

Top Girls, with previews starting on April 15 at the Biltmore Theatre, has a top rate cast with the likes of Mary Beth Hurt, Martha Plimpton, and Marisa Tomei in starring roles.
