April 2, 2007 - The Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting's April bus shelter campaign promoted the feature films I Think I Love My Wife, The Hoax, and The Nanny Diaries, in addition to the HBO series “The Sopranos.”
The Nanny Diaries, opening later this year, is about a college student (Scarlett Johansson) who goes to work as a nanny for a rich New York family. Ensconced in their home, she has to juggle their dysfunction, her studies, a new romance, and the spoiled brat in her charge.
The Hoax, scheduled for release this month, is inspired by true events in the life of Clifford Irving (Richard Gere), the writer who nearly pulled off one of the most audacious media scams in history, when his “autobiography” of Howard Hughes was published. Richard Gere stars as Irving, who claimed the book was based on in-person interviews with the reclusive billionaire, which were in fact completely bogus.
I Think I Love my Wife, released last month, is the story of a married man (Chris Rock) who daydreams about being with other women and finds his will and morals tested after he's visited by the ex-mistress of his old friend.
HBO’s final season of the “Sopranos,” which began airing this month, took advantage of the bus shelter campaign by utilizing two separate ads to be displayed on 100 shelters.
