April 1, 2005 – The National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) recently moved its headquarters from California to New York City. NAMIC provides executive leadership, mentoring and coaching programs as well as seminars and networking events to educate, advocate and empower diverse leaders in the industry.
“New York City is the media capital of the world, so we’re closer to our constituents and sponsors,” Kathy Johnson, NAMIC’s Executive Vice President, said. “There is a very high level of energy and diversity here which increases our opportunities and extends our outreach.”
“It is a pleasure to welcome NAMIC to New York City,” Commissioner Katherine Oliver said. “At the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, we share NAMIC’s commitment to encouraging diversity within the entertainment industry, and applaud their many successful events and programs.”
