March 1, 2006 – During Women’s History month, the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting is proud to salute the numerous women whose talent and creativity drives our City’s production industry. This March, New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT) and New York Women in Communications, Inc. (NYWICI) will present several events which will serve as networking opportunities for women in the industry:
On March 4, NYWIFT will present a screening of "Daughters of the Dust" at the Harlem Film Festival, as well as "Girls Night Out," a series of seven short films including the "Made in NY" production Ferry Tales, which shot on the Staten Island Ferry. The organization will also present a screening of "The Beauty Academy of Kabul" on March 14, and a Short Film Showcase on March 22. Click here for more information.
