Jerry Orbach shoots Law & Order on the streets of New York City

March 1, 2005 - On February 5, Jerry Orbach was honored posthumously with a SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, for his role as Detective Lennie Briscoe on Law & Order. His wife, Elaine Orbach, took the stage to a standing ovation to accept the award.

"Jerry had a motto: Never leave a hit show," she said.

Orbach starred as Detective Briscoe on Law & Order for twelve years, shooting on the streets of New York City, and is also remembered for his heavyweight roles on Broadway.
