Film Festivals Present Diverse Experiences

February 1, 2012 - In February and early March, film festivals will showcase unique perspectives from people with different abilities and cultures.

Reelabilities: NY Disabilities Film Festival
The 4th annual ReelAbilities: NY Disabilities Film Festival will take place from February 9-14. Presented at various arts, educational and cultural venues, the festivals will showcase narrative, documentary and short films that promote awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories and artistic expressions of people with different abilities. Queens World Film Festival
Queens World Film Festival is poised to open at the Museum of the Moving Image on March 1 with an evening of challenging films from around the world and around the corner. Throughout the weekend, the festival will screen 114 films from as far away as Bangladesh, Spain, the Netherlands, Japan and Italy while also featuring local filmmakers from all five boroughs at local Queens venues.
