January 6, 2009 - Exit Art, located in North Chelsea in Manhattan, is the latest production facility to qualify to host “Made in NY” projects. Films and TV series that want to be eligible for the “Made in NY” tax credit can now take advantage of Exit Art’s unique space.
With its ground floor, large windows and flexible gallery area, Exit Art offers a great location in an up-and-coming neighborhood. Built in 1916, the building was originally the home of publishing company McGraw-Hill and its printing presses until 1931. Now the space plays host to frequent fashion shows from designers like Tom Brown and Jason Wu.
Exit Art was founded twenty-six years ago by directors Jeanette Ingberman and Papo Colo and has been in its current location for five years. The space rental fees goes toward its nonprofit efforts, dedicating to showcasing emerging and underrepresented artists whose work is a departure from the status quo.
