 |
 The Departed released in theatres on October 6, 2006. The production shot in New York from February of 2005 to July of 2006 and employed 200 cast and crew members. The film tells the story of a rivalry between the Boston police force and an Irish-American gang. Director Martin Scorsese’s lengthy NYC film credits include Bringing Out the Dead, Kicked in the Head, Clockers, Naked in New York, New York Stories, The King of Comedy, and Taxi Driver. Producer Brad Grey has also had some experience filming in New York: he filmed City by the Sea in New York City. Producer Graham King’s NYC film credits include The Good Shepherd. Leonardo DiCaprio’s NYC film credits include Celebrity and The Basketball Diaries. Matt Damon has also had experience filming in New York: he has filmed The Good Shepherd, Margaret, Finding Forrester, and Rounders.
