Firefighter Christopher Little Meets the Mayor Before Heading to Iraq

Before Firefighter Christopher Little will be deployed with the U.S. Marine Corps in early June, he and his family met with Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta and Chief of Department Salvatore Cassano at City Hall on May 29.
Wearing his new Engine 303 collar brass, Firefighter Little and his parents, Mike and Pat, as well as his girlfriend, Tricia, spent several minutes speaking with the Mayor, Commissioner and Chief before getting a tour of City Hall.
Firefighter Little, 23, will be deployed for approximately 10 months - spending seven or more in Iraq - this will be his second tour of duty.
He mentioned that he always wanted to be a firefighter. Although he will miss his graduation on June 30, his family said they will attend the ceremony in his honor.
“You are serving your city and your country,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “I will think of you at Proby Graduation and wish you all the best.”
Commissioner Scoppetta and Chief Cassano uttered similar sentiments.
“We look forward to seeing you back safe,” the Commissioner said.
