Fire Commissioner Salvatore Cassano speaks before a performance of “The Guys.” To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, the FDNY Foundation held a special benefit production of the Anne Nelson play, “The Guys,” starring Sigourney Weaver and Tom Wopat, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage Theater on Sept. 8. The play, written following the attacks on the World Trade Center, tells the story of an FDNY captain who lost eight firefighters from his firehouse and turns to a neighborhood author for help writing their eulogies. The cost of two performances was generously underwritten by Bank of America and Alcoa.
