-Port Mobil Barge Explosion
Fireboats Fire Fighter, McKean, Kane and Smith responded to a fatal fuel barge explosion in the Arthur Kill on Staten Island . While operating at the incident the McKean and a tugboat removed a second fuel barge that was exposed to the fire and towed off, only to find that this barge also had a fire going below deck. The fireboat crew also extinguished this potentially explosive fire. View Gallery

-M/V Pijlgracht
Just out of the shipyard, the Fireboat Fire Fighter responded to an engine room fire aboard the ship M/V Pijlgracht 10 miles offshore. Along with the fireboat Kane the Marine Companies assisted the crippled ship into the late evening hours while facing high winds and very cold temperatures. View Gallery
