The Bureau of Training is responsible
for the initial training and continuing skills development
for all Firefighters, Fire Officers and Emergency Medical
Service personnel.
To fulfill these requirements, the staff of the Fire
and EMS Academies are dedicated to creating and providing
quality training programs that reflect the needs and
changing responsibilities of F.D.N.Y.
All training is focused on providing and maintaining
the highest quality emergency service at both fire and
medical responses to the people of New York City.
Instructional programs target operational efficiency
with emphasis on safe operating procedures for our members
in all aspects of fire and emergency operations.
The Bureau of Training Accepts and enthusiastically
anticipates the challenge of planning and designing
our new Fire Academy at Fort Totten.
