This year they will be honoring the head of the FDNY Ceremonial Unit Lt. Joe LaPointe, as FDNY Man of the Year, as well as two fallen members Lt’s John Murray and Phil Petti.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is hosting a National Stair climb for Fallen Firefighters. Proceeds will benefit the FDNY Counseling Services Unit and the programs provided by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to support the families of our nation’s fallen firefighters.

World Trade Center Memorial Plaza, Manhattan
This year’s event will take place on the WTC Memorial plaza. The invitation and/or letter families received from the museum, P or T numbers, or Memorial Park identification cards will serve as credential for admittance to the ceremony. Families will be able to enter the Memorial plaza beginning at 7 a.m. and can access the Museum beginning at 7:30 a.m. The last entry will be at 7 p.m. Due to capacity constraints in the Museum, advance reservations are strongly encouraged. Tickets to the Museum are free for family members and each member must have a ticket to be admitted to the Museum.

9-11 Father Mychal F. Judge Walk of Remembrance

Mass -9:30 am
Mass will be celebrated in memory of Father Judge at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi (135 West 31st Street – between 6th – 7th Avenues), directly across from
E-1/L -24. After the mass, the walk will commence, and it will end with a memorial service at the FDNY Tribute Wall at E-10/L-10.
