Family Assistance - UPCOMING EVENTS

St. Patrick's Day Parade
March 16th, 2013

The families of our fallen members are welcome to march with the FDNY during the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Those wishing to march are invited to join the line-up on 47th between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, near the "Families of the Fallen" banner, at 11:00 am. Ceremonial Unit staff will be on hand to direct people and staff. They can be identified by a white braid on the right shoulder of their dress uniforms. Please note the date change !!!!!

Ice Skating At Rockefeller Center

The annual Ice Skating Party for FDNY/NYPD/PAPD Line of Duty families is scheduled for Wednesday,  March 2nd, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rockefeller Center.  In addition to free skating, the evening will include hotdogs, hot chocolate, fun and festivities. Please see the enclosed flyer.

Follow the heroic footsteps of Firefighter Stephen Siller, who raced on foot with his gear strapped to his back through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Towers. We honor not only Stephen but also the memory of all those who perished on that fateful day.

On the evening of September 10, 2012, at the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance, there will be a candlelight memorial service honoring the sacrifice of first responders. All are welcome to attend.

There will be a special mass, where steel recovered from the World Trade Center site will be blessed. The steel is going to be incorporated into the Towers of Freedom Military Monument, which will be located in John Burns Park. Active and retired members are requested to attend in uniform. Catholic Mass will be celebrated in memory of Father Judge at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi (135 West 31st Street - between 6th - 7th Avenues), directly across from E- 1 / L - 24. After the mass, the walk will commence, and it will end with a memorial service at the FDNY Tribute Wall at E-10/L-10.

A 2k walk-run will be held at St. Michael's Cemetery to benefit the children of those who died from working in the rescue and recovery effort at the World Trade Center Site. 2nd Annual Lt. Thomas Healy Foundation 5K Fun Run
Saturday, April 21st, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.

The Lt. Healy Foundation provides financial grants to members of the FDNY or members of their families who are battling cancer. The foundation was named for Lt. Thomas Healy, a 32-year veteran of the FDNY, who passed away in 2003 after a bout with mesothelioma. More information can be found at www.lthealyfoundation.org.
