| The marriage of FDNY and EMS continues to bear fruit:
Bolstered by CFR-D Engine and Truck Companies, response
times continue to decline. (See chart on page 16.) As
diverse as the individual cultures might be, though,
there is one shared theme--the desire of all to provide
this City and its inhabitants with the best service.
The EMT-Ds and Paramedics who are being honored today
best exemplify this quality service, because they delivered
it not only with speed, but with care and compassion,
too. A winning combination...a wonderful partnership...a
great job by all. The goals of Fire and EMS are identical--providing
life-saving service in a timely fashion.
