FIRE COMMISSIONER NIGRO TO PRESIDE AT GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR 95 PARAMEDICS AND EMTS

Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro will preside over a graduation ceremony for 10 Paramedics and 85 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) on Monday, June 30 at 11 a.m. at the Christian Cultural Center, 120-20 Flatlands Avenue in Brooklyn.

“These Paramedics and EMTs will be serving in communities throughout New York City, responding to life-threatening emergencies and making a difference in the lives of those they serve,” said Commissioner Nigro.  “With their new skills, these graduates will uphold FDNY’s reputation of leadership in providing the best pre-hospital care available anywhere in the world.”

Thirteen different languages are spoken by this diverse group of graduates, including: American Sign Language, Bengali, Cantonese, Creole, Ewe, French, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Mandarin, Polish, Russian and Spanish. These newly trained Paramedics and EMTs be assigned to units throughout New York City.
