Mayor Bill de Blasio and Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano will preside over a graduation ceremony for 286 Probationary Firefighters on Tuesday, June 3 at 11 a.m. at the Christian Cultural Center, 120-20 Flatlands Avenue in Brooklyn.

The graduating class of Probationary Firefighters reflects the growing diversity of the Department, with 45% of its members identifying as people of color – including 17% as Black and 24% as Hispanic – as well as four women.

These probationary firefighters will be assigned to firehouses throughout the city, where they will gain field experience under the guidance of senior firefighters and officers.
