FIRE COMMISSIONER SALVATORE J. CASSANO TO PRESIDE AT CEREMONY PROMOTING 10 EMS LIEUTENANTS AND 7 PARAMEDICS

Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano will preside over a ceremony promoting ten FDNY EMS Officers and seven Paramedics on Tuesday, February 18 at 11 a.m. at FDNY Headquarters Auditorium.  This new class includes ten Paramedics who are being promoted to the rank of EMS Lieutenant and seven FDNY Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) who are being promoted to the rank of Paramedic.

“Last year, members of FDNY’s Emergency Medical Services responded to more emergencies than ever before, while still providing the best pre-hospital care in the world to those who live, work and visit New York City,” said Commissioner Cassano.  “In their new roles, these newly promoted will continue to lead in providing the unmatched level of care New Yorkers have come to expect from the Department.

Together, the newly promoted officers represent over 174 years of experience with the Department.  They will be assigned to various units throughout the city.
