FIRE COMMISSIONER CASSANO TO PRESIDE AT GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR 39 PARAMEDICS AND 56 EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS

Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano will preside over a graduation ceremony for 39 Paramedics and 56 Emergency Medical Technicians at LaGuardia Community College, 31-10 Thomson Avenue, Queens on Friday, August 30th at 11 a.m.

“These new Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians will soon be responding to life-threatening medical emergencies, affecting an immediate, positive impact on communities throughout the five boroughs,” said Commissioner Cassano.  “As members of FDNY EMS, they will be making a difference in the lives of New Yorkers and upholding the Department’s reputation of providing the best pre-hospital care in the world.”

Twelve different languages are spoken by this diverse group of graduates: Cantonese, French, Fujianese, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Tamil and Urdu. The new Paramedics and EMTs will be assigned to various units throughout the city.
