FIRE COMMISSIONER CASSANO TO PRESIDE AT CEREMONY PROMOTING 44 FDNY MEMBERS
Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano will preside over a ceremony promoting 44 FDNY members at LaGuardia Community College, 31-10 Thomson Ave, Queens on Thursday, February 14 at 10 a.m. Chief of Special Operations Command William Seelig and Chief of Safety Stephen Raynis will be promoted to the rank of Assistant Chief, 10 Lieutenants will be promoted to the rank of Captain and 32 Firefighters will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
"The Department is coming off one of the most impressive years in its history, with the lowest number of civilian fire deaths ever recorded," said Commissioner Cassano. "These newly promoted Assistant Chiefs, Captains and Lieutenants will continue the strong leadership present at every level of the Department and carry on our mission of reducing fire related fatalities in New York City."
Together, the newly promoted members have over 650 years of combined experience with the Department. They will be assigned to various units throughout the city.
