FDNY BRAVEST BOXERS TAKE ON NYPD BOXING TEAM AT 30th ANNUAL BATTLE OF THE BADGES

The FDNY Bravest Boxing team will take on the NYPD Fighting Finest Boxing team at The Battle of the Badges on Saturday December 8 at 8 p.m. at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. The night will feature 12 exciting three-round bouts featuring FDNY members versus NYPD members, with the FDNY team looking to improve on their winning record against the Fighting Finest of 15-13-1.

As in years past, the FDNY Boxing team will donate proceeds from the event to assist a returning veteran who has suffered severe injuries in combat. This year the team will donate funds to help build a new home to fit the needs of United States Marine Corporal Greg Caron, who lost both legs and the use of his right arm after stepping on an improvised explosive device while serving in Afghanistan.

The FDNY Boxing team competes in several amateur boxing matches each year against other Fire Department and Police Departments. In the past several years, the FDNY Bravest Boxing team has donated over $50,000 to military related charities.
