DEPUTY MAYOR CAS HOLLOWAY AND FIRE COMMISSIONER SALVATORE J. CASSANO HONOR MEMBERS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO HAVE DIED IN THE PAST YEAR

Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano and Deputy Mayor for Operations Cas Holloway will honor Lieutenant Richard Nappi, Lieutenant Joseph DiBernardo, and 9 additional FDNY members who have died in the past year at the 105th Annual Memorial Service at the Firemen's Monument, 100th Street and Riverside Drive, at 11 a.m.

The Firemen's Monument was built in 1912 and is located in Riverside Park in Manhattan. It is the largest monument to a single group outside the military. Inscribed on the monument are the words: "To the men of the Fire Department of the City of New York who died at the call of duty, soldiers in a war that never ends. This memorial is dedicated by the people of a grateful City."
