Press Releases / 2012 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: AUGUST 12, 2012

All Proceeds from Calendar Sales Benefit FDNY Foundation

The Official FDNY 2013 Calendar of Heroes is now on sale at and will be available at the FDNY Fire Zone Store located in Midtown Manhattan on Monday August 13. Firefighters featured in the calendar will be signing purchased copies on Monday August 13, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Times Square on Broadway between 44th and 45th streets.

The FDNY 2013 Calendar of Heroes is the only official calendar of the New York City Fire Department. All proceeds from the sale of the calendar go directly to the FDNY Foundation, the not-for-profit arm of the FDNY which was established to promote fire safety education for residents of New York City and to provide professional development, training and education for FDNY members.

"The rewards of this official FDNY calendar are seen year round in the thousands of fire safety education events it helps fund and in the historic low number of fire related fatalities it helps this Department achieve," said Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano. "Fire Safety Education is vital to the residents of New York City, and thanks to our great friends at Maybelline New York and the incredible photography of Patrick McMullan, we've put together a fun and exciting way to help bring more attention to this very worthy cause."

This year's calendar, with support from Maybelline New York, and with photos taken by premiere New York City nightlife photographer Patrick McMullan, features 13 active FDNY Firefighters at locations representing all five boroughs of New York City. Most important of all, each month brings a fire safety message ensuring that each person who purchases the calendar can remain fire safe all year long.
