Taylor & Taylor Associates and the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company have partnered to award a $17,528 grant to the FDNY on Thursday, May 10, 2 p.m. at the Quarters of Ladder Company 3 at 108 East 13th Street in Manhattan. The grant brings funds to Ladder Company 3, to enhance the training of its members, as well as provides funding to support the mission of the FDNY High School for Fire and Life Safety.

"This generous grant is the latest strong show of support from our great friends at Taylor & Taylor Associates and Fireman's Fund," said Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano. "These funds will not only enhance the day-to-day operations of our current Firefighters, they will also help train our future members at the FDNY High School."

Ladder 3 has used their grant to purchase a forcible entry simulator which provides Firefighters the opportunity to train on entry through all types of locked doors - a crucial aspect of firefighting. Additional funds have been used for a technology training package for the firehouse, as well as power tools, flashlights and rescue simulation training equipment.

The FDNY High School for Fire and Life Safety, which is now in its seventh year, has used grant funds to purchase Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training packages for students in the EMT Youth Certification Program. Items include stethoscopes, blood pressure testing equipment and additional medical supplies.

Since December 2006, Fireman's Fund has awarded the FDNY over half a million dollars. This is the fifth grant by Taylor & Taylor, bringing their total donations to the Department to over $150,000.
