FIRE COMMISSIONER CASSANO TO PRESIDE AT PROMOTION CEREMONY FOR 111 EMS OFFICERS AND PARAMEDICS

Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano will preside over a promotion ceremony for 2 EMS Division Chiefs, 6 EMS Deputy Chiefs, 21 EMS Lieutenants and 82 Paramedics at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 19 at the FDNY Fire Academy on Randalls Island.

“These men and women have chosen a career dedicated to helping New Yorkers, often at their most dire moments,” said Commissioner Cassano. “The newly promoted Chief, Lieutenants and Paramedics will carry on the proud tradition of FDNY EMS, continuing to providing the best pre-hospital care in the world.”

Eleven different languages are spoken in this diverse group, including Spanish, Chinese, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Creole. Eight members have served in the United States Armed Forces.

All of the newly promoted members will be assigned to various units throughout the city.
