Press Releases / 2011 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: APRIL 21, 2011

The FDNY today launched the FDNY Official 2012 Calendar of Heroes.  The calendar is available for purchase exclusively at and at the FDNY Fire Zone, 34 West 51st Street in Manhattan.  This is the only official FDNY Calendar and the first by the Department since 2008.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the FDNY Official 2012 Calendar of Heroes will go directly to the non-profit arm of the FDNY, the FDNY Foundation.  The FDNY Foundation’s primary focus is educating the public about the dangers of fire and offering ways that everyone can make their home and family fire safe.

“We know this official FDNY calendar will raise funds and awareness about fire safety and will serve to remind everyone of ways to be fire safe year-round,” said Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano.  “The FDNY Foundation’s important role in our fire safety education, and the great work of our members, has helped push civilian fire deaths to record lows in New York City.”

This year’s calendar features 12 current FDNY Firefighters, each bringing a seasonal fire safety message with their respective month, covering everything from space heater safety in the winter to fireworks safety in July.
