FIRE COMMISSIONER CASSANO TO PRESIDE
AT PROMOTION CEREMONY FOR 23 EMS OFFICERS
Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano will preside over a promotion ceremony for 23 FDNY Emergency Medical Service officers tomorrow at the FDNY Academy on Randall’s Island at 11 a.m.
“The men and women of FDNY EMS perform one of the hardest jobs in the city, and they do it well,” said Commissioner Cassano. “No matter the conditions, the elements, or the number of calls they respond to every day; our members remain committed to the job and to the people they serve.”
Captain Joseph Sanders will be promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief, six Lieutenants will be promoted to the rank of Captain, and 16 Paramedics will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. These officers comprise 328 years of experience with the Department. All of the newly promoted members will be assigned to various units throughout the city.
