FIRE COMMISSIONER CASSANO TO PRESIDE AT PROMOTION CEREMONY FOR 42 EMS OFFICERS
Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano will preside over a promotion ceremony tomorrow August 3 at 11 a.m. at the FDNY Training Academy for 42 officers of the FDNY Emergency Medical Service. Captain Robert Colon will be promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief, 10 members will be promoted to the rank of Captain, and 31 members will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
Collectively, the officers being promoted have over 630 years of experience with the Department. These members have received numerous citations for their service and have 56 pre-hospital saves in their careers with FDNY EMS.
“Last month was one of the busiest in the history of FDNY EMS, and throughout the heat waves, our members continued to serve the people of New York City,” said Commissioner Cassano. “That commitment is thanks in large part to strong leaders like those being promoted at this ceremony.”
All of the newly promoted members will be assigned to various units throughout the city..
