FIRE COMMISSIONER CASSANO TO PRESIDE AT CEREMONY PROMOTING FIRE OFFICERS AND FIRE MARSHALS
Fire Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano will preside over a ceremony promoting 25 FDNY members at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 6 in the auditorium at the FDNY Academy on Randall’s Island. Two members will be promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief, ten members will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, twelve will become Fire Marshals, and one will be promoted to Marine Engineer in the FDNY Marine Division.
“Promotion ceremonies are always great days in the FDNY because we see the future leaders of this Department,” said Commissioner Cassano. “Our new Deputy Chiefs will continue to lead on a higher level; our new Lieutenants will lead members on the fire floor; our Fire Marshals will go from putting out fires to investigating them; and our Marine Engineer will help protect our waterways on the new and improved vessels in our Marine Division.”
The members being promoted comprise over 250 years of experience in the New York City Fire Department. All of the newly promoted members will be assigned to various units throughout the City.
