FDNY MOBILE CPR TRAINING UNIT BEGINS FREE SCHEDULED TRAINING IN EVERY BOROUGH STARTING IN 2010
The FDNY Mobile CPR Training Unit will begin holding regularly scheduled free CPR classes in all 5 boroughs starting on January 5, 2010. The first Tuesday through the fourth Tuesday and the fourth Thursday of every month there will be Borough CPR training sessions in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island and Queens.
Training is free to anyone over the age of 14. The goal of this program is increase the number of people in New York City trained in bystander CPR. Each class lasts 1 hour and participants in the class learn basic CPR skills from a member of the FDNY Emergency Medical Service. Volunteers for the class follow along using the CPR Anytime Personal Learning Kit, which features an instructional DVD and an inflatable mannequin. All participants are able take home the kit at the end of class and asked to pledge to use the kit to show five of their family members and friends how to perform CPR. This class teaches basic CPR technique and is not a certification course.

Fourth Tuesday of every month
Location: EMS Station 23, 1100 Rossville Avenue
QUEENS
Fourth Thursday of every month
Location: EMS Station 54, 222-15 Merrick Boulevard
