FDNY BRAVEST BOXERS BATTLE NYPD BOXING TEAM AT
27th ANNUAL BATTLE OF THE BADGES

The FDNY Bravest Boxing team will take on the NYPD Fighting Finest Boxing team at The Battle of the Badges tonight, Friday October 9 at 7 p.m. at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden.  The night will feature 12 three round matches featuring FDNY members versus NYPD members.  This is the first time the event has been held at Madison Square Garden since 1986.

Proceeds earned from the event will go towards opening a youth boxing program in Brooklyn.  The program, “Firefighters, Cops N Kids,” will run five days a week giving children a chance for exercise and mentoring from firefighters and police officers in their community.  Additional proceeds from the event will go to the Wounded Warriors Project.  Members of the Wounded Warriors Project will also be on hand at the event.

The FDNY Boxing team competes in several amateur boxing matches each year, including the World Police and Fire Games and the International Police and Fire Games.

Tickets are available at Ticketmaster and at the Madison Square Garden Box Office.
