FDNY UNVEILS NEW CITYWIDE POSTERS
CELEBRATING EMS WEEK 2009
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta will join members of the FDNY Emergency Medical Service and Van Wagner Chief Executive Officer Richard Schaps tomorrow at 11 a.m. outside of 800 Third Ave. (between 49th and 50th streets) to officially unveil this year’s new citywide posters celebrating EMS Week 2009, which begins across the country on Sunday, May 17.
The FDNY-developed posters feature a team of FDNY Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians rushing along with an injured patient beneath the slogan, “Moving at the speed of life.” The annual public service announcements – which are designed to raise awareness about the life-saving skills of FDNY EMS members – will be displayed on approximately 350 telephone kiosks donated by Van Wagner.
