FIRE COMMISSIONER SCOPPETTA TO PRESIDE AT GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR 286 PROBATIONARY FIREFIGHTERS
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta tomorrow will preside over a graduation ceremony for 286 probationary firefighters. The “Probies” have successfully completed the rigorous training program and will be assigned to fire companies throughout the five boroughs.
Tomorrow’s class is one of the most diverse in the Department’s history, with 35 percent minorities.
During the ceremony a special tribute will be held for Probationary Firefighter Jamel M. Sears, who died on Nov. 10.
