FIRE COMMISSIONER SCOPPETTA ANNOUNCES OPENING OF
NEW QUARTERS FOR MARINE COMPANY 3 AT
KINGSBOROUGH COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN BROOKLYN
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta will announce today the opening of a new facility for Marine Company 3 located at Kingsborough Community College Marina in Brooklyn. Previously, Marine Company 3 was stationed at Gateway Marina, across from Floyd Bennett Field.
The new quarters will include 24-hour security, a new kitchen and bathroom, and a state-of-the-art concrete floating dock. Marine Company 3 is one of the busiest marine companies in the fleet, recently credited with saving the lives of three boaters off Breezy Point.
Kingsborough Community College is one of the top ten community colleges in the country and Brooklyn’s only community college. It serves approximately 30,000 students per year.
