FIRE COMMISSIONER SCOPPETTA TO PRESIDE AT PROMOTION CEREMONY FOR 34 MEMBERS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta will preside over a promotion ceremony tomorrow for 34 members of the FDNY. One member will be elevated to the rank of EMS Division Chief, five members will be elevated to the rank of Fire Battalion Chief, two to the rank of EMS Deputy Chief, 10 to the rank of Fire Captain, one to the rank of Supervising Fire Marshal and 15 to the rank of Fire Lieutenant.
Among those being promoted is EMS Deputy Chief Ann Fitton, a 24-year veteran of the EMS Command. She also has family who has served with the FDNY, including her husband, retired-EMS Captain Neil Fitton, and brother-in-law, EMS Division Chief Michael Fitton.
All of the newly promoted members will be assigned to various units throughout the City.
