FDNY HOSTS SOUTH CAROLINA STUDENTS WHO RAISED MONEY
FOR A NEW FDNY LADDER TRUCK AFTER 9/11
FDNY Chief of Department Salvatore J. Cassano will join firefighters from Engine Company 202 and Ladder Company 101 in Brooklyn tomorrow to host 150 students, teachers and parents from Lexington, S.C., who raised more than $500,000 for a new ladder truck after the apparatus was destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001.
Students from the White Knoll High School Marching Band will tour the quarters of Engine Company 202 and Ladder Company 101 in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn and share stories with firefighters who benefited from their community’s successful fundraising campaign. Many of the high school students attended White Knoll Middle School when the school donated the funds in November 2001.
