FDNY AND U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY
HOST NATIONAL
CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION SHARING
WITH THE FIRE SERVICE
The New York City Fire Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are hosting a national conference tomorrow on information and intelligence sharing with the fire service. The inaugural Fire Service Intelligence Enterprise (FSIE) conference is designed to launch a collaborative effort among the country’s major fire departments to formalize the fire service’s ability to gather, receive and analyze intelligence.
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta, Chief of Department Salvatore Cassano and other FDNY officials will attend, as well as Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis Charles Allen and other DHS representatives. Among the 80 fire and security officials expected to attend are chief officers from 15 major fire departments, including Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and Washington D.C.
At 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, media outlets may attend addresses by keynote speakers Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta and DHS Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis Charles Allen. All print, television and radio reporters with proper credentials should arrive shortly before 1:30 p.m. to ensure attendance.
