FDNY TO CELEBRATE THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY
OF ENGINE COMPANY 293
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta tomorrow will join the officers and members of Engine Company 293 in Woodhaven, Queens, as they celebrate 100 years of dedicated service to the community.
A plaque will be dedicated at the quarters of Engine Company 293 to honor three members who died in the line of duty – Firefighter Ignatius F. Neusch who died on April 13, 1916, Firefighter Joseph A. Scanlon who died on May 13, 1936 and Firefighter Robert W. Johnston, who died on December 31, 1943.
