FDNY TO CELEBRATE THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY
OF LADDER COMPANY 30 IN MANHATTAN
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta tomorrow will join the officers and members of Ladder Company 30 in Manhattan as they celebrate 100 years of dedicated service to the community.
Ladder 30 was the first due company to respond to the infamous Collyer brothers’ mansion in 1947 and the General Slocum steamer fire in 1904.
Two of the company’s current members recently served a tour of duty in Iraq with the Marine Corps.
