FDNY TO PARTICIPATE IN TOY DRIVE BENEFITING
CHILDREN
AFFECTED BY HURRICANE KATRINA
Chief of Department Salvatore J. Cassano will be teaming up with representatives from the Steven Siller “Let Us Do Good” Children’s Foundation, the 9/11 Families For Katrina Relief and local Staten Island leaders to help raise support for a toy drive benefiting children affected by Hurricane Katrina.
The purpose of the toy drive is to donate holiday gifts to families that are still struggling one year after the worst natural disaster in U.S. history. Every firehouse throughout New York City will be collecting new unwrapped toys for boys and girls of all ages during the last week of November. The gifts will then be delivered by the Steven Siller Children’s Foundation to the Gulf Coast the first week of December.
