FIRE COMMISSIONER SCOPPETTA TO MEET WITH WEST POINT CADETS AT THE WORLD TRADE CENTER SITE TO DISCUSS CRITICAL DECISION MAKING
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta and other FDNY officials will join cadets from West Point Military Academy tomorrow at the World Trade Center site for an overview on how commanding officers make critical decisions during a crisis situation. Since the September 11, 2001 attacks, West Point Military Academy has played a significant role in helping FDNY officers enhance their leadership and management skills in an effort to better prepare the Fire Department for a large-scale disaster.
The Strategic Leadership Staff Walk allows the Academy’s cadets to understand the valuable lessons the Fire Department learned following the devastating attacks of 9/11. These lessons are designed to help prepare our future military leaders for the challenges they may encounter.
