Chief of Operations Salvatore Cassano tomorrow will preside over the dedication ceremony of Collapse Unit 4, newly stationed at Ladder 116 in Astoria, to honor the memory of Lieutenant John Downing, Firefighter Harry Ford and Firefighter Brian Fahey, who all died in the Father’s Day fire in Astoria on June 17, 2001. Commemorating the fifth anniversary of the fire, the ceremony will take place at St. Sebastian’s Church in the Woodside section of Queens.

This past week, John Downing, who had been on the Lieutenants list at the time of his passing, was posthumously promoted at a ceremony held at Fire Department Headquarters.
