FDNY TO CONDUCT FULL SCALE
HAZ–MAT DECONTAMINATION DRILL
Firefighters train at a simulated chemical attack on a Subway
The New York City Fire Department tomorrow will hold a full-scale training exercise at the FDNY Training Academy on Randall’s Island. More than 100 FDNY members will participate in this drill, which will simulate a chemical attack on a subway.
Roughly 15 units will be responding to the incident and they will be training and evaluated on a
number of categories such as FDNY communications, patient identification and triage, HAZ MAT
response plan, mitigation and decontamination.
