Today, July 15, shortly before 10:00 AM two Queens Firefighters from Ladder 138 in Corona en-route to relieve fellow firefighters at a Bronx 3rd alarm, witnessed a stabbing in progress on Corona Avenue in Queens.

The firefighters, Joseph Tarantini and Brian Pulsch were traveling in a civilian vehicle when they witnessed the assault on a male victim. Alerted to their presence the perpetrator attempted to flee the scene. Firefighter Tarantini immediately took chase while Firefighter Brian Pulsch tended to the victim who was bleeding profusely after being stabbed multiple times to the legs and back.

Within minutes Firefighter Tarantini a former NYC Corrections Officer apprehended the violent perpetrator and restrained him until Police arrived.

The Victim a 35-year old male was transported to Elmhurst Hospital in serious condition.

Firefighters Tarantini and Pulsch will be available at the firehouse located at 97-28 43 avenue in Queens at 2:30 PM today.
