FIRE COMMISSIONER SCOPPETTA TO PRESIDE AT
GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR PROBATIONARY FIREFIGHTER PETER T.
REGAN
Ceremony to take place before Regan ships
out for second tour of duty in Iraq
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta tomorrow will preside
at a graduation ceremony for Probationary Firefighter Peter
T. Regan at the quarters of Rescue Company 3 in the Bronx.
Firefighter Regan has successfully completed the requirements
necessary to graduate the FDNY Fire Academy on March 7th but
will be unable to take part in the Department’s graduation
ceremony because he has been called up to active duty in the
United States Marine Corps. The activation will take place
on February 6th and will be Regan’s second tour of duty
in Iraq since the war began.
Regan’s father, Donald, was a firefighter assigned
to Rescue Company 3 and was killed on 9-11 along with seven
other members of the Rescue Company as they operated at the
World Trade Center. Family and friends of the Regans as well
as members of Rescue 3 will join Commissioner Scoppetta at
the ceremony.
