NEW YORK CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES FIREHOUSES NO LONGER ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR HURRICANE RELIEF
Program concludes after a very successful three-week collection period
The New York City Fire Department, in conjunction with the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, today announced that those firehouses designated as Hurricane Relief Collection Points would no longer be accepting donations. The announcement comes after a very successful three week collection period in which New Yorkers generously donated more that 20 tons of non-perishable food items, bottled water and clothes in order to aid the millions of people in the Caribbean that were devastated by the recent hurricanes.
