25 MEMBERS OF FDNY AND NYPD DETECTIVE STEVEN MCDONALD
TO VISIT INJURED SOLDIERS AT WALTER REED HOSPITAL IN WASHINGTON D.C.

Friday, 25 members of FDNY, many of whom sustained serious injuries in the line of duty, along with NYPD Detective Steven McDonald, will be traveling to Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington DC to visit the GI’s that have been injured overseas in Iraq. The convoy will leave at 6 AM from the quarters of Engine Company 332 / Ladder Company 175 in East New York, Brooklyn, and arrive at Walter Reed Hospital at 10 AM. The trip has been dubbed "New York’s Bravest Salute America's Bravest." A number of the firefighters that are taking part in the trip were injured on 9-11, and some have previously served in the military, or are military reservists. The members will be handing out hats and t-shirts, as well as presenting the hospital with a banner from the FDNY in order to show solidarity and support for the members of the military. During their trip, the members of FDNY will also be treated to a tour of the Pentagon where they will see, among other things, the newly dedicated 9-11 memorial.
